Blog week 2

What did I learn this week?
Are you able to relate what you learned to what you already knew?
What I learned ties into what I already know because everything in the world can be categorized as either living or non-living. I think the way we’ve been learning about living vs. non-living organisms has been easier to grasp because the information is presented clearly while also using artistic skills to better explain. I’m more confident in classifying living things and have the right terminology to support my reasoning. I remember planting seeds in school when I was younger, especially in elementary school, so I'm curious to see how this germination experiment compares to those experiences. Some parts are already familiar, but I'm interested and excited to discover new connections between this experiment and what I’ve learned before.
New or remaining questions
Can something be considered non-living but still exhibit some characteristics of life? For example, a crystal grows over time but is considered non-living.
Hello Jenna, I enjoyed your blog for this week. I think that you picked ladybugs for your characteristics of living things poster. My group did turtles which was interesting. For your question I think the same thing. I actually have so many questions and sometimes it scares me because I may never find out the answers to them.
ReplyDeleteHi Jenna, I also wonder about the question you asked. That is kind of like the debate about virus'. I also remember planting a seed in elementary school. I think that it is a great thing for kids to see the germination of the plants, cause they get to see it with there own eyes!
